Sometimes you just need a little snack before dinner, am I right?

My new ritual for evenings when I’m prepping dinner for my family is to pour a glass of my favorite kombucha, drink a cup of my homemade bone broth or enjoy a little bowl of my new favorite pre-dinner snack.

Enjoying one of these before dinner helps to fill me up a bit so I’m not starving when I sit down at the table. And, they have incredible health benefits. Particularly gut health benefits.

According to Dr. Christiane Northrup’s website: “By now you probably know how important your gut health is to your overall health. If not, you need to! 80 percent of your immune system is in your microbiome, your body’s bacteria, which help your body with just about every process, including helping you to digest your food, think clearly and even maintain a healthy weight.”

Your healthy gut microbiome can be damaged through taking antibiotics, stress, eating processed foods and sugar, eating conventionally raised meat and dairy, and more.

Fortunately, there are some things we can do to build back our good, healthy gut bacteria.

Watch the video below to find out what my new favorite pre-dinner snack is, and why it’s good for your gut health.
